Where Classic Literature and Needlework Are Sewn Together
Hosted by Sapphire Mountain Handcrafts
About
Stitching Book Club is a literary needlework community that focuses on cross stitch and classic literature. Founded in 2019, SBC has members from all over the world that participate in mystery stitch-a-longs and online book discussions.
The idea for this group came to me as I spent a particularly pleasant evening watching Pride and Prejudice (2005) and working on a model of one of my own designs. It was such a peaceful moment and I thought, wouldn't it be nice to share this with others?

Of course, the rest is history!
It is a small production here at SBC. I am the definition of a one woman show. All designs are created, all models are stitched, all fabric is hand-dyed, all kits are prepared, and all merchandise is designed and crafted independently by me. While this means that things get done at a bit of a slower pace, it allows me to connect with all my members on a level that I wouldn't trade for anything. You can be assured that with every Stitching Book Club purchase, you are getting something that was made directly from me with a lot of love.
"I cannot count my day complete until needle, thread, and fabric meet."
My name is Kristin Ashley and I am the creator and host of Stitching Book Club. A crafter by nature, my life has long been filled with the desire to make things.

At the age of 24, I became suddenly very ill with what is a debilitating chronic illness. Unable to leave my bed at times, I turned to crafts to keep myself occupied and my mind stimulated. While my mother had taught me how to cross stitch at a young age, it was not something that I had kept up with. However, in my weakened state, it turned out to be the perfect craft for me. Cross stitch is now not just a passion, but my purpose. While my health is still delicate, I have been given new life through the generous support of this incredible community and for that I cannot thank you enough. I have felt honored to share these past few years with you all and I am looking forward to many more.
